Ongoing Events

First Congregational Church – Saturday Breakfast

Every Saturday

The Saturday Breakfast began in February of 2003 when it was brought to our attention that there was a need to offer a free hot meal on the weekend in Muskegon.
The community has gathered for breakfast every Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m until 10:30 a.m, including holidays
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to come and help serve and hang out with the people.

AgeWell Services – Meal Site Volunteers

AgeWell Services delivers and serves 1,600 meals every day in three counties: Muskegon, Ottawa, and Oceana. We rely on an army of volunteers to deliver and serve these meals daily between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. All you need is a smile and must be able to pass a background check.

C.O.G.I.C Center - Shepard’s Table Soup Kitchen

Every Tuesday & Thursday

Through our Healthy Project and the C.O.G.I.C. Community Center, the Shepherd’s Table Soup Kitchen is committed to being a source of support to economically disadvantaged children and their families, the homeless, and the elderly by providing a free community based nutritional meal twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 pm to 6 pm. We want to be like Jesus, in the Bible, by feeding the multitude. We want to bring hope to those in need, by providing meals with enthusiastic and caring helpers. We pray that people will be assisted at any time they are in need of a meal.
The Mission of the Shepherd’s Table Soup Kitchen is to support and enhance the ministries of the C.O.G.I.C. Community Center, Inc. by serving a healthy, delicious meal. The Food Service Ministry has been operating under the C.O.G.I.C. Community Center since 1999. During that time, the ministry has doubled the number of events as well as the number of people served.

Community enCompass – Thursday Lunch Crew

Every Thursday

Sacred Suds (a program of Community enCompass) is a community laundy and shower facility in the McLauglin neighborhood. We have fabulous neighbors who bring lunch every Thursday for the community. We are looking for help prepping, serving, and cleaning up after lunch. If you are a people person who wants to meet a diverse set of neighbors then this is a great opportunity for you. No previous food service experience needed. Training is provided and you do not need to commit to coming every week. We are in need of 1 lead server, 2 additional food servers, and one beverage server. Prep and cleanup is done as a team.

Kids’ Food Basket - Sack Supper Packing!

Join us in packing Sack Suppers in their final stage before delivery!
While this shift is designated for the task of packing Sack Suppers, no task is ever a guarantee. Projects do change last minute due to food goods available on-site. Please be ready to have a good time while ensuring kids in our community get the nutrition they need to thrive!
