Fill the Truck: School Supply Drive

A series of giving opportunities, sponsored by Two Men and a Truck!

School Supply Drive!

When: August 6th - September 5th

We are gearing up for our biggest Fill the Truck Drive of the year - School Supplies! Last year we were able to send a box full of supplies to every public school elementary (grade 1-3) in Muskegon County. These supplies helped fill classrooms, went to students in need, and supported the learning environment needed for our students to succeed. In Oceana, all school supplies collected in Oceana locations will be delivered to Hart Public Schools, and in Newaygo County, all school supplies collected at the Eye Care One in Fremont will go to Fremont Public Schools!
This drive is important to our community because it supports our youth by providing them the tools necessary to receive a high quality education, and relieves the stress of back to school shopping for our struggling families. Did you know that in America, the average family spends $638 per child in back to school shopping?
Locally, that is close to our average mortgage rate. That means if a family is struggling to make ends meet, back to school shopping can cause a serious dilemma. Last year, we were able to help our schools and our families with an approximate of $20,000 worth of school supplies going to our children and teachers.
Items to donate: tissues, hand sanitizer, dry erase markers, crayons, pencils, pens, paper, legos, nonperishable snacks, post its, glue, paper, backpacks, notebooks, pencil cases, rulers, soft dice, flash cards & more!
