COVID-19: NFL And EA Sports Use Madden Tournament On Twitch To Benefit United Way's COVID-19 Fund (April 1, 6pm ET)

United Way’s COVID-19 Fund to benefit from Madden Tournament hosted by The Checkdown

Some of the biggest names in football are going head-to-head in Madden to raise money for United Way's COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund on Twitch. The NFL and EA Sports chose United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Fund as the beneficiary for today's streaming Checkdown Madden Tournament featuring NFL players.
 

The April 1 virtual event (starting at 6pm ET) features the following NFL players:

  1. Denzel Ward (CLE)
  2. Keenan Allen (LAC)
  3. DeSean Jackson (PHI)
  4. Jarvis Landry (CLE)
  5. Tyreek Hill (KC)
  6. Tyrann Mathieu (KC)
  7. Derwin James (LAC)
  8. Deebo Samuel (SF)
The NFL Foundation and EA will make a $20,000 donation on behalf of the winner and $5,000 contributions on behalf of each participant to charities of their choice supporting COVID-19 relief efforts. These include support for the most vulnerable populations, including the elderly, poor and school-aged children. Contributions will total $60,000. Viewers will be encouraged to donate as well.
