Each year during Senior Corps Week a recognition luncheon is held to honor and celebrate the difference RSVP volunteers make in our community. In 2015, a special RSVP Volunteer Impact Award was given to Susan Strum for her leadership as a national service volunteer.
According to her station site, the USS Silversides Submarine Museum, she is an invaluable member of the team. Susan has improved the external Marketing and PR practices and initiated and developed improvements in the Volunteer Management processes. Executive Director Russ Gallas relies on her advice and analytical approach to situations. Her own personal former military service and career as a Civil Servant in the State of Florida makes her an invaluable resource to him.
