Martin Luther King Elementary: 

Classroom Literacy Support Volunteer: 

Encourage the development of a lifelong love of reading! Provide library instruction to elementary classes. Read a story a loud, help children choose a book to check out, and teach library etiquette!
 

Library Support Volunteer/Mentor:

Encourage the development of a lifelong love of reading! Provide library instruction to 2-6th grade elementary classes. Read a story a loud, helpd choose a book to check out, and teach library etiquette! 
 

 

Edgewood Elementary: 

Classroom Literacy Support Volunteer: 

Help improve academic success in the classroom by assisting a teacher during reading block. Show kids that there are caring adults in the community who love reading and want to be successful in school!

Food Truck Worker:

Mobile food pantries help hundreds of families and individuals in our community every week. Help provide this critical supplemental access to food! Help clients, load and sort food at distribution trucks. Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift items required. 
 
 
 
 
 

First Congretional Church - Saturday Breakfast:

Dinning Room Server:

 Every Saturday from 9:00AM-10:30AM a free community breakfast is held and everyone is welcome! This event needs volunteers to serve in the dinning room, pour beverages, help in the kitchen, and assist with the children's program. 
 
 
 
 
 

Salvation Army: 

Food Pantry Support: 

Ensure food pantry clients feel welcome and informed! Ensure pantry clients complete necessary forms and sing in sheet. Greet walk-in clients, direct them appropriately, and provide accurate information to people calling on the phone in need of services. Help cleints 'shop' in the food pantry. Assist clients with selection and bagging, as well as the stocking of pantry shelves. 
 
 
 
 

Mercy Health Muskegon:

Patient-Family Resource Center Volunteer: 

Make a difference assisting patients, thier families and caregiovers with accessing and obtaining credible health information in a variety of formats through resource centers located at the Johnsons Cancer Center and Comprehensive Breast Center. 
 

Health Office Support Worker: 

Assist medical staff by providing office support, patient support and family support trhough a variety of activities throughpout the hosptial. Locations may include the enterance desk, gift shop, or cafe. 
 

Life Circles: 

Healthy Activity Worker: 

Be a part of providing one-on-one and group supporty to clients at Tanglewood Park! Help achieve the goal of increased healthy living and decreased social isolation for seniors during clinically-supervised activites in a friendly environment. 
 
 
 
 

Senior Resources:

 Medicaid/Medicare Assitance Program Volunteer: 

Become a trained Volunteer Counselor and help seniors answer questions on health care benefits including: Medicare part A & B, Medicasre Perscription Drug Plans (Part D), Medicare supplemental insurance, applying for Medicare or a medicare Savings program, exploring options for long term care insurance, Medicare Advantage options, helping to report Medicare or Medicaid fraud and abuse, and other issues of importance to people in Medicare, their families and caregivers. 
 
 
 

Age Well Services: 

Nutritional Access Volunteer: 

Ensure that all seniors in Musekgon County have access to nutrition by aupporting AgWell prgrams including Meals on Wheels, the Tangerwood Cafe and congregate meal sites. 
 

Exercise and Activity Worker: 

Do you hvae enthusiasm, a passion for art, dance or exercise? Are you interested in working with older adults? Become the instructor of an educational or exercise class. 
 

Home Delivery Meals Driver: 

Deliver meals to seniors throughout Muskegon County and provide a friendly smile to brighten their day.
 

Cafe Volunteer: 

Provide friednly, patient and timely assistance to Cafe guests. Utlize your customer service skills to keep Cafe area clean, stocked and organized. 

American Red Cross: 

Blood Services Support Worker:

Provide support and community outreach to the community by volunteering as a greeter/receptionist, Blood services volunteer, support cancer patients and surviovrs, or maintain items used in cmmunity health training.

Do you have great customer service skills? Do you love theater and the performin garts? Help provide support to enhace and expand the hsitoric Fraunthal Theater by greeting, ushering patrons, and taking tickets. 
 
 
 
 
 

USS LST 393 Museum: 

Support Volunteer: 

The historic warship, now a Vetern's museum, was at Mormandy on June 6, 1944. Help preserve the ship for future gnerations and expand te current educational programming and displays. We need help with welcoming patrons, painting, cleaning, updating plumbing and electrical, and with general carpentry. You rewards are immediate as you help us bring LST 393 shipshape back to her WWII configuration.

Muskegon Heritage Museum: 

Support Volunteer: 

Do you love Muskegon? Then the Muskegon heritage Museum is the place for you! Volunteer as an admission/ticket taker or tour guide in the museum dedicated to SHOW the economic and industrial history of our community. Featured items include: Corliss Valve Steam engine build 1893 with a 10 foot diameter flywheel that weighs 6 tons, a print shop, Continental Motors Display, Sappy paper making process display, Charles Hackly office furniture, and an orignial operating pin setter from Brunswick!

USS Silversides Submarine and Museum: 

Support Volunteer: 

The USS SILVERSIDE has been painstakingly maintianed in its World War II configuration and its considered the U.S. Navy's most successful surviving World War II submarine. Support the submarine and the museum that features military displays and a variety of lecture series. Support the Silversides Landing Gift Shop by helping as Sales Associate/Running Cash Register, Admissions, Stocking Shelves, or become an Administration volunteer helping with Data entry (Word/Excel), Answering Phones, Sales/Marketing. Not to mention many other volunteer choices. 
 
 

Milwaukee Clipper:

Support Volunteer: 

Support the restoration and preservation of the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper - A National Historic Landmark! The ship carried untold thousands of passengers and automobiles between Musekgon and Milwaukee, WI. From 1941 - 1970. Join a family of volunteers committed to the promotion and preservation of this unique Muskegon treasure! Volunteer to support fundraising, publicity, working on the newsletter, maintenance, museum/gift shop assistance, restoration work, security at the Clipper dock site, and achiving.

Goodwill Industries:

VITA Volunteer: 

Goodwill is currently recruiting RSVP volunteers for their VITA program (tax preparation).  No prior tax prep experience needed. We provide you with the training and support you need. Training begins in November and the volunteer period begins early February through mid-April. Both in-person and remote service options available.

 

 


Feeding America:

Food Truck Volunteer

Join our Feeding America RSVP volunteer team! This is a “Drive Thru” volunteer opportunity with no physical contact with families picking up food. Training and all safety supplies are provided and you can wear your own mask if you prefer.
