Join AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP, SafeSeniors, a program of AgeWell Services of West Michigan, and United Way of the Lakeshore for an important free training designed to help older adults recognize safety concerns, avoid scams, and protect themselves from exploitation.

About the Training
“Not Everyone is Your Friend” is a critical safety and scam-awareness presentation led by SafeSeniors. This training equips older adults with tools to recognize and avoid physical neglect, emotional abuse, financial exploitation, and common scams.
Participants will learn how to identify red flags connected to romance scams, “grandchild” emergencies, caretaker manipulation, and other situations where someone may be taking advantage of an older adult’s trust.

Why It Matters
Older adults are often targeted through scams, exploitation, and manipulation. In many cases, financial exploitation involves someone the older adult knows and trusts. This training will help participants feel more informed, more confident, and better prepared to recognize warning signs.
