Internet Safety Tips
Learn the 4 Rs:
RECOGNIZE techniques used by online predators to deceive.
REFUSE requests for personal information.
RESPOND assertively if you are ever in an uncomfortable situation online. Exit the program, log off or turn off the computer, tell a trusted adult, or call the police.
REPORT to a trusted adult any suspicious or dangerous contact that makes you feel uncomfortable.

i-Safe America is a national, non-profit, internet safety awareness organization that is federally funded and offers on-going support in the form of information, materials and training.
In September 2005, both the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners and Muskegon City Council passed resolutions naming October as Internet Safety Month.
i-Safe Awareness Day was held Oct 6, 2005
Mr. Richard Murray, Assistant U.S. Attorney, spoke to over 100 people about the danger of Internet predators and the strategies they use to victimize children. He spoke to the Muskegon Rotary, Muskegon Community College, and First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
